About

Danish Bricks Builder

An open-source, browser-based brick building tool: a 3D editor, a directory of parts, and a directory of builds. Built on open data and open standards; free to use and remix.

Data sources & attributions

All 3D part geometry is from the LDraw parts library, an open standard for brick CAD created by James Jessiman and maintained by the LDraw community. LDraw is a trademark of the Estate of James Jessiman.

Parts, sets, colors, themes, and inventory catalog data — as well as part and set images — come from Rebrickable's public data downloads.

3D reconstructions of official sets are community-made LDraw models from the OMR. Each model file preserves its original author credit and license header, shown alongside the model.

The generated-structures directory is derived from the StableText2Brick dataset published with the LegoGPT research project (Pun et al., Carnegie Mellon University, 2025).

Code

The application code is open source under the MIT license. Models you export from the editor carry a CC BY 4.0 header by default — they are yours to share.
