Actual physics: torque through tooth contact
Rapier world with gravity and a floor. The motor case is a free body resting on a stand — nothing is bolted to the world. Tooth colliders are convex hulls of the real LDraw tooth geometry, so the collision shape matches what you see. The DC-motor model torques the 8t only (its reaction torque pushes back on the case); the 24t turns because teeth push teeth. The ratio is measured from the bodies, not scripted.

Known approximations, stated honestly: tooth hulls are convex (no involute concavity), gravity uses mm-scale magnitude for solver stability, and the axles are visual (the revolute joints do the axle's job). Everything else — mesh transmission, backlash, stall, reaction on the case — is contact-solver output.
